DR. GANGARAM HEMANDAS

Dr. Gangaram Hemandas graduated from the University of Malaya in 1978, obtained his MRCP(UK), MRCP(Ireland) in 1989 & FRCP(UK) in 2001. He had his dermatology training at the Dept of Dermatology, Hospital Kuala Lumpur (1986), St John’s Institute of Dermatology, London (1987-88), & obtained his Diploma of Dermatology in 1988. He was the founder and head of the Laser & Dermatologic Surgery Unit in Hospital Kuala Lumpur (1994-2008). He had his fellowship training in Dermatologic Laser and Surgery in National Skin Centre, Singapore, Mahidol University, Ramathibodi Hospital, Thailand, and Dept of Dermatology, Boston University School of Medicine, USA.

He was the past president of the Dermatological Society of Malaysia (2004-06), Chairman of Malaysian Psoriasis Registry (2008) and Chairman of the National Dermatology Registry since 2009. He was the founding chairman of the Cosmetic Dermatology & Laser Surgery Board of the Dermatological Society of Malaysia (since 2006) and the head of the Dept of Dermatology, Prince Court Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur, since 2008.
